Vision: Where Do We Go From Here?
In the sermon titled "Where Do We Go From Here?," Sammy took the congregation through the journey of the church, from its humble beginnings in 2002 with just 27 members to its current state. Despite many challenges faced, Sammy and the founders stayed steadfast, believing in God's ability to do something extraordinary in the ministry. Resistance, criticism, and loss of members due to the introduction of change became a part of the leadership's journey, requiring much bravery and sacrifice. Their dream and dedication resulted in remarkable growth and achievements, such as the erection of a worship center and a family life center.Contrasting the church's leadership journey to Moses and Joshua's story in the Bible, Sammy emphasized the significance of a smooth leadership transition. In this vein, he introduced John Welch as the new lead minister of the church. He expressed his confidence in John's character, calling, commitment to Christ, and the ministry. Although stepping back, Sammy will maintain an active role as the executive minister overseeing specific church aspects while exploring potential additions to the ministry, such as a senior adult ministry and a fitness program. The sermon ended with encouragement for unity and dedication to the church's mission in the face of spiritual battles, commissioning prayer for John Welch, and a congregational vow to support the new minister.
